      Restore katadatabase log using Esentutl

      How to restore a database archive using Esentutl:

      1. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then clickEquipment.
      2. Right-click Command Prompt and select As Runtime Administrator.
      3. If the Account User Control dialog box appears, verify that the action shown for someone matches your requirements, then clickContinue.
      4. In our Command Prompt window, type net detect for cryptsvc stop Cryptographic Services and also press Enter.
      5. Enter esentutl / p <% systemroot%> System32 catroot2 F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-8haben-00C04FC295EE catdb and press ENTER.

      The above cmd throws an “Access Denied” error, doesn’t it? I am a domain admin and a specific member of the local admins group who seems to have the right to C:

      To restore the database directory using Esentutl:

      1. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then clickEquipment.
      2. Right-click “K Command Prompt “and select” Get as administrator “.
      3. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, make sure the displayed action is the one you want and clickContinue.
      4. In the Immediate Command window, type net stop for cryptsvc stop Cryptographic Services and press ENTER.
